¡Hola, hola!
I'm so excited to start my first blog post, notice I didn't say "write". I am not a writer, but I am an observer, I'm curious, I EAT with my eyes, I love my culture, and I celebrate cultures around the world. My secret "Taco de ojo" is anything that is colorful and magical. Don't get me started on my strange, small delights, like... the sky, even in Chicago you can experience beauty just by looking UP, yes up... at any time of day or night. The sky, the streets, my dog LOL...they feed my soul. Now, I usually keep those things to myself, but I think I am ready to share. So here we go.
In the spirit of loving culture, color and magic, I looked around my little home to see what items I use as daily inspiration. I found crosses, milagros, and Our Lady of Guadalupe all over my home. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do, see a sampling in my slideshow below. Mission accomplished, I'm satified with my taco!
For my next blog post I'm going to hit up some of my friends' homes. I'm going to start some detective work to see what unique things inspire them and what makes their homes come alive... I'm ready, set iPhone to no flash!
